What is NC Water Life?

NC Water Life (short for North Carolina Water Life) is a site created by a 17-year-old from North Carolina (aka me!) who’s passionate about the aquatic animals in my state. I built this website to have a space for me to talk about local aquatic life in rivers, lakes, and aquariums near me. Every day, I’ll be posting blog entries about different aquatic animals, where they live in the wild or where they are in local aquariums, talk about their diet, weight, etc. I want to raise awareness about species that aren’t well known or are currently endangered or going extinct. If you’d like to learn how you can help protect aquatic life in your area you can head to the "Other" submenu and click on the "How Can You Help?" page. There, you’ll find ways to support aquatic animals in North Carolina, your local area, or even around the world. (This site is currently a work in progress some features like comments may not work or some pages in the header just please be patient I am only one person and I just started this website August 10th 2025)

5 Out of 9 pages are finished! We have a new game section and what i wanted to do was post daily on all parts of the website but I dont think ill be able too so im changing it for right now until i get some help. Ill be making a post once a day only on one section but they will all have new posts every few days! The comments still do not work I havent been working on trying to fix it ive been working on finishing the website once all the pages are done and all I have to worry about are blog posts Ill try to work on the comments code anyways thank you everyone for the support if you need anything please contact me by going to "Other" on the header and clicking "Contact & Feedback" because that is my next stop! ( I also do not think ill be making a blog post for today (August 12th 2025) on any section other than "Inavsive or Less-Known Aquatic Threats" because after i finish the contact page that is my next project.) As of right now all pages work but "Contact & Feedback", "Inavsive or Less-Known Aquatic Threats", and "How Can You Help?" have no content but hopefully should in the next few days. The website doesnt really work on mobile and I do not think I have a way of fixing that unless I want to make a new website just for mobile users I might in the future but thats highly unlikely since im the only one working on this website for the foreseeable future. Also by August 25th 2025 Ill be starting school again so the updates on here and blog posts may be delayed until weekends only but Im not sure yet it just depends on how everything works out, Thank you everyone and I hope you have a good week!

Our whole entire site is done! I havent worked on fixing the comments yet but I am still making daily posts I wont be able today so im just counting this as the post for today but all posts moving forward should be posted before 10pm est every day, Until the 25th (when I start senior year) Everything will be posted before 5pm est. Anyways thank you everyone for the support!! This site has reached almost 300 views, im hoping by the end of the school year/around my birthday the site will be way more popular. Anyways other than posting schedule and fixing the comments (hopefully) their are no new updates. (Future edit: I will be changing the quizzes and local species spotlight sometime in the future and have it the same for a few weeks/months before changing all of them to new questions.)
